Great news! Two more souls accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior during
our Open Hands outreach service at the Splash Park on Town Branch on Saturday, September 13. God has truly blessed through this new ministry.
In addition, the COGWC blessed 168 families with food on September 16, through
our Open Hands Food Pantry. Volunteers worked hard to distribute food to the needy. God blessed them greatly, and we who volunteered received as great a blessing to be able to distribute this food. It was a great day, and we were thrilled to be able to help people.
A big Thank You! to those who came out and worked. We especially thank
Wendell Carmack for allowing the guys at Chad's Hope to come out and help. We needed their strong backs for lifting and carrying food and they did a great job. Thanks guys!
Our next food distribution day will be Tuesday, October 21. We plan to distribute
food every third Tuesday of each month. New hours will be announced the closer we get to the distribution date.
Deuteronomy 15:7-8 says, "If there be among you a poor man of one of thy
brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth."
